Welcome to Tau Films

Tau Films was recently formed by John Hughes, the founder of Academy Award winning Rhythm & Hues. Tau has a supervisory team in Los Angeles and does the bulk of production work using artistic talent throughout Asia, with its hub in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Rhythm & Hues was renowned for its animation and creature work and won Academy Awards for “Babe,” “Golden Compass,” and “Life of Pi.” It specialized in photo real furry creatures like the tiger and the orangutan from the “Life of Pi,” the golden monkey from “Golden Compass” and the Capuchin among many other animals for the “Night at the Museum” films. Rhythm & Hues was also expert at set extensions and digital environments, and at simulation effects.

Tau Films is focused on developing features for Asian and world markets. We’re also building a strong production pipeline through visual effects, animation and special venue work, including a recent ride film for Movie Park Germany similar to the “King Kong 360” attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Tau Films recently finished a ride film for Movie Park Germany similar to the “King Kong 360” attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood, and is now working on a dome theater project.
